Symphonia Academica was delighted to perform their debut concert for the South Lincolnshire Concert Series Music In Quiet Places.

Symphonia Academica's Ensemble for the evening were:

Peter Bussereau and Marcus Broome violins.
Ania Ullman viola.
Katharine O'Kane cello.

The Ensemble had chosen to perform works with a strong Viennese connection, each by a master in the craft of writing for string quartet.

Haydn's quartet The Sunrise gained it's name from its beautifully serene opening. Beethoven's quartet opus 18 number 4 is full of fire and charm in equal measures. The concert closed with Schubert's masterly Rosamunde quartet, written in the closing years of the composers life but full of melodic joie de vivre.
