Julia Graham cello SA4 string quartetJulia Graham

Julia entered the Purcell School of music as a scholar at the age of 15.

After studying at the Royal Academy of Music & then completing a postgraduate at the Royal College of Music, Julia's first job was with English National Opera. She was then the No.3 cello with the BBC Symphony Orchestra for a few years before leaving to enjoy a varied freelance career.

Since then Julia's chamber music activities have included performances in both the Wigmore Hall and Purcell Room as well as recordings of the Mendelssohn Octet & Spohr's double string quartets.

Julia frequently performs with the English Chamber Orchestra and the London Chamber Orchestra both in London and on tours worldwide.

By contrast, she has been the member of many West End bands including Evita, The Wizard of Oz and the most recent production of Miss Saigon in London's Prince Edward theatre. Commercial work has included many film scores such as Ladies In Lavender, Atonement & Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince.
